All about Tumuli

What are Tumuli?

Scattered across the forest, Moors Valley has several clusters of earth mounds called Tumuli – preserved and protected Bronze-age burial grounds that have now been enveloped by the flora and fauna.

Celebrating the deceased’s role in life and achievements, these barrows pre-date Stonehenge and provide a 4,000-year legacy on the landscape. Look out for the interpretation board that explains more.
