Bunker Open Days

A rare chance to see inside the Decoy bunker situated within Moors Valley, which was a WW2 bombing decoy.

The bunker at Moors Valley was used during the Second World War to power and control lights to mimic the nearby RAF airfields at Hurn and Ibsley, including a 1km flare path whose location has been identified. This is an opportunity to take a closer look at the bunker which is not usually accessible to the public.

Bunker 1

Volunteers will be on-site to explain more about how the bunker was used and tell the story of its operation, as well as the scale and importance of Decoy and Deception Techniques to the war effort.

Dogs are welcome on leads only.

Please note – access inside the bunker for mobility scooters is not possible due to space restrictions. Access for wheelchairs is dependent on the size of the chair.

The bunker is a dark enclosed space but there is ample daylight from the entrances.

It is a 2km walk to the bunker from the Visitor Centre. Parking charges apply.

This event is subject to change or cancellation at short notice. Find out more about the bunker here.
