Discover more about some of the creatures that live at Moors Valley with fun activities and hands-on displays, open on selected afternoons during Dorset school holidays.

Meet the rangers and learn more about nature and the wildlife that you can find at Moors Valley.

Discover who lives in our ponds and rivers in our huge fish tanks, see which birds are visiting our bird feeding station, and read about our special habitats.

Excavate fossils in our sandpits, test your knowledge on our Ranger Den quiz or even explore your creative side with some ranger crafts.

Ranger Den is accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Find Ranger Den at the back of the Visitor Centre, opposite the toilets.

Opening Times and Charges

Ranger Den is open Tuesday – Friday during Dorset school holidays (excluding Christmas holidays) from 1.30pm to 4pm. Unfortunately, we may have to close Ranger Den if there are large scale events in the park. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

There is no entry fee to come in and look around, however donations are very welcome. Suggested donation £1 per child.

There may be a small charge for some occasional craft activities.

    Moors Valley Golf Course is open for both Season Ticket Holders and Pay and Play customers.

    Fishing

    Fishing is permitted on the west bank of Moors Lake from the 16th June to the 14th March, every day from 9am.
