We’re bringing back some of our most popular family-friendly Halloween activities this Half Term.
Brand New for 2021 – Join Wanda the Witch on her latest quest
22nd October – 1st November
Wanda the Witch is back and she needs your help! Pick up your trail pack at the Visitor Centre for £2.50 and head to the walking and cycling totem pole to start your 1.5 mile quest.
The trail may be wet and muddy, so please dress to be outside in all weather.
- Follow the Halloween trail arrows from the walking and cycling totem pole
- 1.5 mile route through the forest and around Moors Lake
- The route is accessible for off-road wheelchairs and buggies via gravel tracks and tarmacked paths
Besom Broom Making

Get into the Halloween spirit and make your very own mini broomstick to fly away home with.
27th October – 10.30am – 11.30am
A guided walk with a Ranger for young explorers to look at the environment around them with a few fun activities along the way.
23rd and 24th, and 26th – 31st October – 1pm – 4pm
Come along and visit Ranger Den, there’s lots to see and do, meet the resident animals including Harvest mice, Grass snake and minibeasts from the meadows. Carnivorous plants and microworld are the newest additions for 2021.
Pitch & Putt
23rd October – 1st November
Head to the Golf & Activity centre for a round of family Pitch & Putt with a hint of Halloween.
£4.00 per person, with a sweet treat at the end.

Go Ape, Segway and Nets adventure – Sundown Sessions
Swing through the trees on the Treetop Adventure and Treetop Adventure Plus courses or bounce until your heart is content on Nets Adventure this October. Tackle mega-high platforms in the darkness or feel the speed of a zip wire as the sun goes down. With minimal lighting, these sense heightening experiences really do add a new level of excitement into the mix.
Moors Valley Railway – Pumpkin Trail
The Moors Valley Railway pumpkin trail is back! Why not combine a return trip on the train from either station with the pumpkin trail? Simply purchase a trail sheet for £1 at Lakeside or Kingsmere Station and see what word you can make from the letters you spot around the railway.
Food and Drink
Seasons are also joining in the Halloween spirit with a selection of Halloween drinks and treats.
Back by popular demand, the Ice Cream Kiosk will be selling limited-edition Halloween-themed ice creams served inside a mini pumpkin. New for 2021, pumpkin spice whippy shake.
Be sure to pop into the Visitor Centre Gift Shop where you’ll discover Halloween-themed plush toys and accessories as well as a huge range of toys, home accessories, and treats. You’re sure to find something for everyone.
