Moors Valley Railway

Moors Valley Railway

Moors Valley Railway is open on weekends and Dorset school holidays throughout the year, and daily from June to mid-September.

Moors Valley Railway

Enjoy a ride on an authentic steam train around Moors Valley Country Park. At Kingsmere station you can visit the railway gift shop and refreshments kiosk for hot/cold drinks, ice cream and snacks.

Carrying over 100,000 passengers annually, the railway provides a picturesque journey of just over a mile. Travel along the banks of Moors Lake, through tunnels, a forest incline, and a spiral loop around the play areas.

The railway is run by an extended family team and many dedicated volunteers.

To date, there are 19 steam and 2 diesel locomotives in use on the railway. The majority of the engines have been built here in the workshops at Moors Valley. All the steam trains are fuelled by coal.

For further information about the railway, engines, and carriages, please see the official Moors Valley Railway website. If you have a specific enquiry concerning the railway or would like to make a group booking then please contact the railway direct 01425 471415.
