25 wildlife events launch 25 year celebrations at Moors Valley (Feb 2013)

Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, near Ringwood, is running a huge range of events throughout 2013 to mark its 25th anniversary.

Now the third most visited country park in England, Moors Valley has launched its 25th year celebrations with the announcement of 25 wildlife themed events.

The events, including wildlife walks, illustrated talks, pond dipping and photography walks, reflect Moors Valley’s ability to balance the needs of its visitors with those of its indigenous wildlife.

Countryside Interpretation Ranger Katie Davies said, “We are excited to be celebrating 25 years with 25 wildlife events. These will be opportunities for our visitors to experience the wonderful diversity of wildlife that exists in the park. We are one of the best sites in the UK for dragonflies and damselflies and have recently reintroduced water voles. There’s always lots to see and do here and these 25 events are a great addition to our existing programme.”

The 25 wildlife events kick-off on 16 March with the Art and Skills of Wildlife Photography, a relaxed and informative talk by professional wildlife and landscape photographer Mike Read. Other events include a Dawn Chorus walk, Meet the Minibeasts event, Nuts about Nature family sessions and a dragonfly walk and exhibition.
