Fishing

The Moors Valley fishing season runs from 16th June to 14th March.
Moors Lake is a great place for children to learn to fish responsibly. The Rangers run a full programme of fishing tuition sessions during the summer holidays.

Moors Valley Golf

The quality 18-hole course extends along the valley of the Moors River, covering a total of 6337 yards including four par 5s, ten par 4s and four par 3s.

Moors Valley Railway

Experience the thrill of travelling by steam along the banks of the Moors Lake on an authentic narrowgauge steam railway.
Moors Valley Railway was one of the very first developments to be completed at Moors Valley. It opened to the public at the end of July 1986, using much of the equipment including locomotives, rolling stock, some trackwork and workshop machinery moved from Tucktonia during the previous September and October.

Walks and trails

There are many miles of paths and tracks through Moors Valley Country Park and Forest. You are welcome to walk on any of these paths however the best routes have been waymarked.
The routes range in distance from 3/4 mile to 5 miles and are easy to follow.

Wildlife

Moors Valley has a mixture of habitats including coniferous forest, deciduous woodland, lakes, ponds, rivers, meadow and heathland which in tern support a huge variety of wildlife.
We have been recording wildlife sightings from both visitors and Rangers for over 10 years.
